Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today was Daddy's birthday.  Sophie could not wait!  She loves a party.  She and I got up and made Daddy cupcakes, lemon, his favorite.  She was so happy to get to do the sprinkles.  We had to have the birthday celebration as soon as Daddy got up so we were all still in our PJ's.  After we got ready we headed to another favorite of Daddy's, Pappalino's.  He loves their thin New York style pizza.  He and Sophie enjoyed watching the guy throw the dough up in the air, add the toppings and pop it in the oven.....Yummy!!!   Happy Birthday Honey, we love you so much!

Dinner With JoJo & Butch

JoJo and Butch invited us over to celebrate Camden's birthday.  JoJo was so excited to have us over for the first time in her newly remodeled kitchen.  We had a glass of wine together (JoJo gave Sophie a fancy glass with Ginger-ale) and a wonderful meal of all Camden's favorites.  Everything was delicious and it was a nice time catching up and being together to celebrate the special day of such a special guy!

It's All Happening So Fast

Everything to do with being a Senior is happening so fast!  It seems daily there is something new to think about. A date to write down in the calandar, decisions to be made and money to be spent.

Everyday we get packages in the mail from colleges all begging for us to take a look at them.  Some are inviting us to the Mahammed Ali Center for an open house and others are encouraging us to "Unleash" our inner Tigers!!!

This is the folder we started over the summer.  We just needed a place to put everything that was coming in.  The folder is busting at the seems with brochures and letters.

Although it can be a bit overwhelming, it is an exciting time for our family and especially for Madison.

Sophie's First Day Back At School

Last year I made the decision to put Sophie at Preschool 3 days per week.  I  wasn't sure at the time if it was the right decision because I missed her terribly the 2 days she was already going and she was never excited about it.  I felt that the next year she would almost be 4 and that being around other children her age would be good for her and something she would want more of.   So far this has been a smart move.  First of all because I am now working and this takes care of some of the child care needs we have and because she really grew up over the summer.  She has been at school for a week now and is really enjoying it so much more this year.  We had seen a huge change in her desire to learn over the summer.  She has always had advanced fine motor skills and lately she has been bringing us papers from where she has been going around the house and copying letters that she sees.  She has the word LOVE on the wall of her room and wrote it one day and brought it to me.  She has also become fascinated with learning how to use the computer.   At school they have a computer lab and she gets to take computer class 2 days a week.  This is great for her, bad for me.  I already have to share my MAC with Madison and sometimes Camden.   I still miss her those 3 days but I'm so grateful she is in a wonderful Christian school with teachers and administrators who believe that all children are a gift from God.
Madison is so sweet!  When we got up we found this note he had written to Sophie before he left for school.

New backpack and a Ladybug lunchbox.  What more could a girl need?
