May 2012 - Graduation Day Is Here!

Graduation Day began early and my kiddos were not ready to get up.

It was a beautiful day and once he got up and got to moving the excitement kicked in!

He was really excited that Kaitlyn came in for the ceremony.

The graduate dressed in the parking lot of the fairgrounds and complained the whole time about the heat.

Sophie came well prepared with snacks and things to play with.  Madison's Senior class was very large and we knew it would be a really long ceremony, especially for a four year old.

Two of the people Madison loves the most, Kaitlyn and Wes.

My two handsome boys.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Madison.  It was him just being silly.

Here we go!  Time for the moment we've all been waiting for!

I love the following photos.  They are of Madison on his cell phone.  It is so typical of a teenager.  He had to check in with all his friends, find out where they were and where they were going to meet up.

The tassel was worth the hassle, now bring on the diploma!

Eagerly awaiting his name to be called.

Madison receiving his diploma from Mr. Johnson, the principle.

This is such an important day in a child's life.  One that you look forward to for so long.

Madison was so happy to have his family there to cheer him on.  It meant so much to him.

My niece Victoria graduated with Madison.  It was fun to share this with her too.

Sophie loves her big brother so much.  She thought this whole
"gag e a tion" thing was pretty cool.

 Class of 2012

Madison, we love you and are so proud of you.

May 2012-Prom Night

Tonight was prom and we began the day with homeade smoothies and a hair appointment for Kaitlyn.

I'm not used to teenage girls and it was funny how particular she was about her hair.  She was nervous because neither one of us knew the hairdresser (I had to find an undo specialist for her) and had no idea how it would turn out.  She was pretty good about telling him what she wanted and when it was all said and done she was happy.

Madison chose to wear a suit instead of a tux.  He is the kind of kid that isn't swayed by what everyone else does.  He likes to be his own person.  I love that about him.  When Mamoo found out that's what he wanted, she took him to Macy's and bought him a brand new suit.  They chose a classic gray one with a navy tie that went great with Kaitlyn's  dress.   Mamoo is so awesome!

I think they made a gorgeous couple!

One of the things I like about these two is that they have fun together.  They are always laughing and can be quite silly like in the photos below.

Sophie was so excited and just couldn't understand why she wasn't able to go with them.

We met up with some of Madison's friends downtown for some photos then off they headed to the Riverbats Stadium for dinner and dancing and that night that all Seniors look forward to.

I'm not sure what time they got home but they said they had a blast and I'm so glad they did.  It was a wonderful night!

May-2012 The Last Outfit

I know I said this month was going to be all about Madison but I had to throw this post in here because it's important and I want it documented.  While we were in China, there was a lot of opportunities to shop.  I purchased several outfits for Sophie to have as she grew.  It was hard to judge sizes because they were different from American ones but I was able to pick up enough to make it through 3 years.  I want Sophie to be proud of her heritage and the clothing in China is something to be very proud of.  It is unique and beautiful.  Unfortunately this is the last of the outfits that I brought home and it is probably my favorite.  She looked so pretty in it and I was so excited to capture the moment in camera.

Like most little girls Sophie loves the color pink and she is pretty in pink but I must say she is "gorgeous" in red!
