Dance Recital June 2012

Tonight was Sophie's dance recital.

She looked so beautiful in her costume.

All of the girls in our class were excited to finally be on stage and dance the routines they had practiced all year.

Sophie's costume came with a matching ballerina bear.  It went along with the theme of her ballet routine about little ballerinas wandering around to new and exciting places with their little bear friend by their side.

Sophie was looking forward to dancing in front of all the people again this year  but you could tell she was nervous.  She asked her Daddy strange questions like "do you know how to get there and what if we get stuck in traffic?"  It didn't take us long to figure out that anxiety was prompting these unusual questions.

All the girls did a wonderful job and after several hours of listening to the men in my life asking, "how much longer?"  (I never hear them say this at sporting events!)  The time had finally come for trophies to be handed out.  The girls couldn't wait!

Sophie was hoping for a really big one this year.  She loved hers but wanted one of the tall ones that went to the older girls who had been with the studio for many years.  Most of them were graduating Seniors and this was their last year with Miss Connie so they got the largest trophies.

Sophie made such a beautiful little ballerina.  We couldn't be more proud of her and look forward to watching her in many more recitals.
